Indy Eleven Remembers Alex Morris

Indiana Soccer History

Indy Eleven Professional Soccer President/General Manager Peter Wilt has issued the following statement following the passing of Indiana Blast and Indiana Blaze founder Alex Morris:

"On behalf of everyone at Indy Eleven, I would like to express our condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Alex Morris. His contributions to soccer in the Hoosier State, especially at the professional level, are truly immeasurable, and the joy provided fans of the sport through the Indiana Blast and Indiana Blaze will be forever cherished as part of the state's rich soccer history. I am thankful to have met with Alex during the establishment of Indy Eleven, and his friendliness, support and advice meant a great deal to both myself and the growth of our club."

Morris, who established both the men's Blast and women's Blaze professional teams, passed away Saturday after succumbing to his fight with colon cancer.
