To our Indy Eleven Family,
In recent weeks, Indy Eleven has coordinated with the United Soccer League (USL) and numerous City, County and State government, public safety and health organizations to monitor the rapidly increasing impact of the novel coronavirus in our community. Earlier today, in keeping the health and well-being of our fans, players, staffs, partners and the public at large first and foremost, the USL Championship made the decision to suspend its 2020 regular season for a minimum of 30 days.
While we realize this comes as a disappointment to many inside and outside the organization, we applaud the difficult decision made by the league to put public safety ahead of competition. When the time is right, we will look to continue what is an incredibly promising season for our Boys in Blue – but in the meantime, we will put our focus on supporting our loved ones, our community and the Indy Eleven family in ways other than performing on the field.
In the coming days, we will issue details regarding ticketing policies and procedures, while rescheduling updates will come as quickly as possible so that plans can be reconfigured for our fans and partners to the extent possible. As we have all experienced in recent days, this situation has provided no timetable for its impact, and with that we appreciate your understanding and patience as we continue to evolve our plans for the 2020 season in the days and weeks ahead. We encourage you to please stay tuned to indyeleven.com, our @IndyEleven social media channels, the Indy Eleven App and your inbox for updates on various facets of the 2020 season as they are made available.
For decades, the City of Indianapolis has proven to be the premier host for sporting events in the United States thanks to the seamless coordination between teams, leagues and venues; civic and government leadership; and numerous public safety organizations. All of these groups, including Indy Eleven and the many sports entities that call Indianapolis home, work in unison to ensure events are hosted with one primary focus above all else – the safety of all of those in attendance. We will continue to be guided by that focus and, when allowed, will look forward to returning to the field at Lucas Oil Stadium to reward the best fan base in the USL Championship.
