Q: Why have Indy Eleven’s games been postponed?

A: On March 12, the United Soccer League announced the decision to suspend its 2020 USL Championship regular season for a minimum of 30 days due to public safety concerns surrounding the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

On March 18, the USL extended the suspension of games to mid-May as a response to the Center for Disease Control’s suggested eight-week moratorium on large gatherings.

It is important to note that the season has not been cancelled, merely postponed, allowing Indy Eleven and USL officials to continuously monitor the situation in conjunction with local and national health officials. When appropriate, the league and club will provide additional updates on the continuation of the 2020 USL Championship season.

Q: How many games will Indy Eleven need to reschedule due to the temporary hiatus?

A: The suspension of play will affect, at a minimum, nine dates on Indy Eleven’s 2020 regular season calendar (home games in red):

Saturday, March 14 at Sporting Kansas City II
Saturday, March 21 at Saint Louis FC
Friday, March 27 at New York Red Bulls II

Saturday, April 4 vs. Louisville City FC
Sunday, April 12 at Philadelphia Union II
Wednesday, April 15 vs. Loudoun United FC
Saturday, April 18 at Charlotte Independence
Monday, May 4 vs. Hartford Athletic
Friday, May 8 vs. Tampa Bay Rowdies

This would put Indy Eleven’s potential return to the field on Wednesday, May 13 at Atlanta United 2. Indy Eleven’s first home match is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 23 versus North Carolina FC.

Q: What happens to my tickets for any postponed games?

A: Until we have certainty and direction from USL, your tickets to the postponed match(es) will remain valid for the rescheduled makeup date. If you have transferred or resold your tickets for the postponed match(es), those tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled makeup date as well.

Q: What if I cannot attend games on the rescheduled dates?

A: In the event you cannot attend rescheduled games, Indy Eleven is providing multiple options that will allow ticket holders and additional friends and family to watch the Boys in Blue in action in the future.

All ticket holders should have received an email on Friday, March 13, with details on the options available and instructions for how to provide their preferred option.

Ticket holders are invited to reach out directly to their Ticket Sales Representative, or to contact the Indy Eleven front office at 317-685-1100 or tickets@indyeleven.com if they did not receive the email with options and/or for assistance in this process.

Q: Are the Indy Eleven players training during the break?

A: Indy Eleven’s players have not trained as a group since the second week of March. On Friday, March 20, the United Soccer League announced it has extended its training moratorium for USL Championship and League One clubs through, and including, Sunday, April 5th.

USL is working closely with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), other local, state and national health authorities, the USL Players Association, and professional sports organizations from across the country to ensure the health and wellness of players, staff and supporters remains its top priority.  The league will provide additional updates as soon as they become available.

Q: Will there be any other Indy Eleven events other than games held during the break in play?

A: Out of an abundance of caution, Indy Eleven will not be hosting any public events with players or staff until further notice. This includes the cancellation of the Season Ticket Member Pick-Up Party previously scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, and all player appearances.

Q: Is the Indy Eleven front office open?

A: As of Monday, March 23, members of the Indy Eleven front office are working remotely and will be responsive to communications per usual via email and phone during normal business hours, Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.,

You may still call our main office phone number at 317-685-1100 to have general questions answered. You can also visit our Front Office website page to find contact information for members of the staff in order to reach out to them directly.
