Indy Eleven Professional Soccer is pleased to announce the re-signing of defender Karl Ouimette ahead of the 2019 USL Championship season pending league and federation approval.
“Karl was one of our most consistent players last season. He played well in a number of different positions,” said Indy Eleven head coach Martin Rennie. “He’s very athletic and competitive. Karl’s a great player to have in the locker room and we’re glad that he’s coming back to our community.”
Ouimette started in 31 regular season matches in 2018 and was tied for second-most appearances on the season. The 26-year-old heavily influenced the Boys in Blue’s defensive efforts, leading the team in interceptions (67), tackles (67), duels won (247) and aerial duels won (151). In addition to his defensive performance, Ouimette found the back of the net on three occasions, each goal assisted by returning defender Ayoze Garcia.
“I’m very happy to be back with Indy Eleven this year. I really enjoyed the community, the people and especially the fans that came out to support us last year,” said Ouimette. “I’m excited to go back on the pitch and play.”
Per club policy, terms of player contracts with Indy Eleven will not be released.
