Carmel native Cassidy Lindley becomes the first “family legacy” member of Indy Eleven as she follows in the footsteps of her older brother Cameron, who suited up for Indiana’s Team during the 2020 USL Championship season. After spending three seasons at the University of Florida, Lindley will be working towards her first year on the field at Clemson University this fall after injury forced her to miss out on her first campaign with the Tigers in 2021.
Cassidy starred locally for St. Theodore Guerin Catholic HS, scoring 56 goals even after missing her junior year for an injury. In 2017 Lindley was named to the Best XI at 2017 High School All-American Game, and reached the 3A state championship match the same year. Also, in 2017 and 2015 she was a part of the Indiana Soccer Coaches Association All-State second team and was a member of the USA Under-16 Girls National Team in 2015. Her talent and skill during her high school career led her to be Invited to the U.S. Under-18 National Team Camp in 2017.
Lindley then signed to play for the University of Florida in 2018. During her freshman year she was named Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week (Aug. 20) after turning in a goal and three assists. She stood in second for assists on the team with five assists just her freshman year. In the 2019 season Lindley appeared in all matches (16 starts), scored four goals and shared the lead in assists with five assists again. She helped tie a match at Florida Atlantic on a 35-yard strike. During her 2020 season she appeared in every match for the fall and scored three goals. She scored twice in an overtime win versus Kentucky – including the golden-goal match winner in overtime.
