Hershfelt joined the squad after a decorated collegiate career, which included a selection to the United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region Second Team and All-ACC Second Team in 2022. In her final season with the Tigers, Hershfelt started all 18 matches and registered three goals, including the match winner against No. 24 Virginia Tech, and an assist.
Her collegiate career opened with third-team All-Atlantic Region accolades and a spot on the ACC All-Freshman Team after starting 19 of 20 games played and leading Clemson in match-winners with three. During the shortened 2020 fall season, Hershfelt started all 10 games and earned third-team All-ACC honors, before going on to start all 17 games played in spring of 2021. As a junior, she was honored as a second-team All-Atlantic Region selection and third-team all-league honoree after starting every match and finishing with seven goals.
Prior to Clemson, Hershfelt helped her the Concorde Fire squad to an ECNL national semifinal appearance in 2017. The US Soccer Development Academy squad also made a quarterfinal appearance in 2018.
