Indy Eleven Professional Soccer announced today that it will face I-65 rival Louisville City FC in the First Round of the 2018 United Soccer League (USL) Eastern Conference Playoffs on Saturday, October 20, at 7:30 p.m. at Louisville Slugger Stadium in Louisville, Ky.
Indy Eleven fell 1-0 to Louisville City FC on the road in the 2018 regular season finale last Saturday, October 13, in the third matchup between both teams this season. Indy Eleven won the first of three fixtures, dubbed the "Louisville-Indianapolis Proximity Association Football Contest" by fans, at home 1-0 on May 5. The second meeting was a 2-2 draw on Louisville's home turf on August 5.
The 2018 USL Cup Playoffs will be conducted as a single-elimination, fixed-bracket tournament with the higher seed playing host in each round through the Eastern Conference and Western Conference Final. The 2018 USL Cup will be held at the venue of the conference champion with the superior regular season record on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 8 p.m. ET, with the game to be aired on ESPN2.
