WISH-TV & MyINDY-TV 23 Combining to Air 20 Matches, Exitos on Tap for all 17 Home Contests
INDIANAPOLIS (Thursday, March 31, 2022) – Two of Indy Eleven’s longest standing partnerships will continue in 2022, as the club today confirmed its return to the WISH-TV & MyINDY-TV 23 airwaves for the ninth time in as many seasons and to Exitos Radio for an eighth straight campaign.
“From top to bottom, Indy Eleven broadcasts are the premier television product in the USL Championship. We are thrilled to work with the WISH-TV family once again to provide the consistent and quality coverage our fans and their viewers have come to expect since 2014,” said Greg Stremlaw, Indy Eleven President and Chief Executive Officer. “We also thank the team at Continental Broadcast Group for their continued support of Indy Eleven. Making these matches accessible to Hispanic audiences both locally over the airwaves and more broadly online is a crucial component of how we aim to serve and grow that vital portion of our fan base.”
The continuation of the television broadcast partnership between Indy Eleven and WISH-TV, the CW affiliate, owned by Circle City Broadcasting serving the Indianapolis market (DMA #25), ensures fans in Central Indiana will have an over-the-air option to watch their Boys in Blue. The broadcast schedule begins this weekend on WISH-TV with Saturday evening’s 2022 Home Opener against LA Galaxy II, with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
“WISH-TV and MyINDY-TV 23 are thrilled to partner with Indy Eleven for the ninth consecutive season,” said DuJuan McCoy, owner, president, and CEO of Circle City Broadcasting. “We are proud to bring viewers on-air and online coverage of Indy Eleven as your home for sports.”
For a second consecutive season, viewers will be able to watch 20 Indy Eleven telecasts – four on WISH-TV and 16 on MyINDY-TV 23 (WNDY) – with the slate including all 17 home contests emanating from IUPUI Michael A. Carroll Stadium. The three road matches that will air this season include affairs at Miami FC (Weds., June 8), Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (Sat., June 18), and expansion side Detroit City FC (Sat., Sept. 3).
Just like WISH-TV & MyINDY-TV 23, the on-air duo of play-by-play man Greg Rakestraw and color analyst Brad Hauter are also set to return for their ninth season together in the broadcast booth. In addition, Tupelo Honey – A Gray Television Company will handle game day broadcast production for an eighth consecutive year.
In addition to the two-hour game window, every Indy Eleven broadcast on WISH-TV and MyINDY-TV 23 will be followed by the Honda Post-game Show presented by BetRivers, a wrap up of the evening’s action featuring extensive highlights and interviews with personalities from Indiana’s Team.
The 2022 USL Championship season marks Exitos Radio’s eighth campaign as the official Spanish language radio broadcaster for Indy Eleven. The Exitos Radio crew helmed by play-by-play voice Paco Espinosa will air all 17 regular season home contests from Carroll Stadium live on 94.3 FM and exitos943.com, also beginning with Saturday’s home opener vs. LA Galaxy II.
“It’s been a lot of fun watching our audience engagement develop with Indy Eleven, from the weekly podcast and individual game broadcasts to overall game attendance. We have been honored to partner with Indy Eleven for over eight years as their official Spanish broadcast provider,” said Bart Johnson, General Manager of Continental Broadcast Group. “We look forward to continuing to grow that partnership this season, with weekly programming content offering game insights and interviews with Indy Eleven team and staff, all home-game broadcasts, and in-person Watch Parties for away games and other events like World Cup contests, all in collaboration with Indy Eleven!”
Indy Eleven and Continental Broadcast Group have also continued to partner in airing the Indianapolis market’s first locally produced, Spanish language over-the-air radio show dedicated to the beautiful game, A Nivel de Cancha (On the Field). The 30-minute program, which launched last May, airs on Exitos Radio every Saturday at 10:00 a.m. ET, a time slot that will help fans get ready for 14 of the club’s 17 home gamedays in 2022. A Nivel de Cancha is hosted by popular La Pantera 1590 AM on-air personality Alfonso “Poncho” Romero and current Indiana Fire Academy coach and former UIndy soccer standout Diego Lemus.
While watching and listening to Indy Eleven broadcasts is encouraged, so is catching the action in person at Carroll Stadium! Tickets for Saturday’s 7:00 p.m. “Blue Out Blowout” kickoff – where fans are encouraged to wear blue to support their Boys in Blue – and all 2022 matches at “The Mike” are available via a plethora of ticketing avenues including single-game tickets, 2022 Season Ticket Memberships, discounted group tickets for parties of 10 or more, and expanded Premium Hospitality options.
