Goalkeeper Kate Phillips and Midfielder Addie Chester to Bolster Eleven’s Undefeated USL W League Side
INDIANAPOLIS – Indy Eleven announced today the addition of two more Hoosier State natives set to lace up their boots on behalf of Indiana’s Team across its remaining 10 USL W League regular season matches. Goalkeeper Kate Phillips and midfielder Addie Chester will boost the team’s roster to 27 women; per club policy, contract terms will not be made public.
Phillips will continue to develop close to home as she prepares for her senior year at Indianapolis Cathedral High School, where she’s compiled a 28W-16L-11D record in goal in three years, including 28 clean sheets and a 0.98 goals-against average. Her accolades include First Team IndyStar, All-USA Postseason Super Team and First Team All-State by the Indiana Coaches of Girls’ Sports Association. After finishing out her high school career with the Fighting Irish this fall, Phillips will continue to add to her impressive resume by attending the University of Missouri in 2023.
“The addition of Kate fills out what we believe is the most talented goalkeeping corps in the W League,” Indy Eleven W League Head Coach Paul Dolinsky said. “She will provide another solid option alongside Mackenzie Wood and Nona Reason, and I’m confident in her ability to step up for us if called upon.”
Chester, another Hoosier native, will remain in Indiana after making a huge impact at Delta High School, leading the Eagles to their first winning record in over ten years. She scored an IHSAA record 201 goals and added 36 assists over her four-year career, helping her earn accolades including All-District, All-Conference, and All-State nods in addition to the 2019-20 Gatorade Indiana Girls Soccer Player of the Year Award. Chester will further her career by attending the University of Louisville in the fall alongside new Eleven teammate Karsyn Cherry, making her the first Division I girls’ soccer player in Delta’s history.
“Addie is a Central Indiana kid who also played her club ball locally [with FC Pride],” Dolinsky said. “She’s a very, very creative attacking-minded player, and you can never have enough of those types of players on your squad.”
