Indy Eleven opens a two-match home week against USL Championship Eastern Conference opponent Rhode Island FC on Wednesday. This is the second meeting between the two sides, with the teams playing a 3-3 draw in Rhode Island on July 5.
The Boys in Blue are coming off a 5-0 setback at Charleston on Friday and sit at 9-7-5 in fourth place in the Eastern Conference. Rhode Island is eighth in the division at 6-4-11 following a 1-1 draw at Detroit City FC on Saturday in a match televised on CBS.

SMITHFIELD, Rhode Island (Friday, July 5, 2024) – Indy Eleven returned from Rhode Island with a point after drawing 3-3 with the first-year USL Championship Eastern Conference opponent.
The Boys in Blue scored twice in the opening half as Laurence Wootton registered the opener off an assist from Cam Lindley in the 20th minute. The goal was the first professional tally for Wootton and the assist was the first for Lindley in 2024.
Indy doubled the lead less than 10 minutes later off a 28th minute strike from Elliot Collier. His goal came by way of Romario Williams’ first point representing the Circle City.
Rhode Island got a pair back to open the second half off the corner combination of goal scorer Frank Nodarse and Marc Ybarra in the 52nd and 69th minutes.
Indy retook the lead in the 79th minute off the first goal of the season from Tyler Gibson via an assist from Douglas Martinez, but Rhode Island struck back in the final seconds, earning the equalizer from Isaac Angking in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

CAPTAIN QUINN RETURNS
At the start of the second half in Friday’s match at Charleston, the Boys in Blue welcomed back a familiar face as Aodhan Quinn returned to action for the first time since September 2, 2023, after a season-ending knee injury to don the captain’s armband. Quinn is tied for 3rd on the USL all-time list in assists (50), 4th in minutes played (20,951), and 8th in appearances (252).
FROM THE ACADEMY TO THE STARTING XI
Defender Logan Neidlinger made his first professional start on Friday at Charleston. Neidlinger, who was born in Indianapolis, played the full 90 minutes on Friday. He has played in each of the last four matches. The 18-year-old signed a USL Academy contract on 01/30/2024.

Forward Sebastian Guenzatti made his 200th career USL appearance in Friday’s match at Charleston.

TOP-10 TEAMMATES
Sebastian Guenzatti (6th, 73) and Augi Williams (9th, 71) serve as the only pair of active teammates in the USL Championship’s top 10 for all-time regular season goals. Williams has five goals in 2024, while Guenzatti has three. Williams also has three in U.S. Open Cup action this season to lead Indy.

Aedan Stanley is second in the USL Championship stats with seven assists, which includes his first career multi-assist game, a two-helper performance against his old club Miami FC on May 12. Jack Blake has been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week five times in 2024, the second most for any player in the league, while Aedan Stanley has three nods and a Player of the Week accolade to his name. Additionally, five players have had at least one selection in Younes Boudadi (to HFD 6.13), Adrian Diz Pe, Benjamin Ofeimu, Hunter Sulte and Augi Williams.
In total, seven players have earned team of the week nods, while eight total have received either team or bench honors.
SAVED BY SULTE
Hunter Sulte has made a quick impact in the net while on loan from MLS-side Portland Timbers. The 22-year-old was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 15 and has twice been awarded the USLC Save of the Week (15 & 19) and was a nominee Week 20.
GOALS
The Boys in Blue scored in 15 straight USLC matches to open the 2024 campaign, bringing their total to 31 goals (7th USL), and have scored in 17 of their 21 matches (6.22 OC, 7.30 TBR, 7.26 TUL, 8.2 CHS). The streak, which ended on June 22 against Orange County, is the longest to open a USLC campaign and is the longest run overall within the same season for the club. In total, Indy scored in 18 straight regular season matches dating back to Sept. 30, 2023.
The Boys in Blue have scored 18 first half goals this season, the third-most of any USLC team. Defensively, Indy has held opponents scoreless in the first half in 13 of 21 matches in 2024.
STREAKING
The Boys in Blue were unbeaten in 12 straight matches across all competitions, including a club-best eight straight wins in USL Championship matches before falling to Orange County on June 22. The eight-match USLC win streak is tied for fifth in league history.

For the 13th time in 21 matches this season, the Boys in Blue held their opponent scoreless in the first half to take a 0-0 tie into the locker room. Indy outshot Charleston, 6-2, in the frame, with the two sides each registering two apiece on target. However, it was all Charleston in the second half as the home team scored five goals to secure the victory.
