SETTING THE SCENE
Indy Eleven returns home for its final 2024 regular-season match against the Western Conference vs. El Paso Locomotive FC on Saturday at Carroll Stadium.
The Boys in Blue are coming off a 0-0 draw at Hartford Athletic last Saturday. The Eleven are sixth in the Eastern Conference with a 10-9-7 record for 37 points.
El Paso is 2-1-3 in its last six matches, recording clean sheets in its last three outings.
SERIES VS. EL PASO
Saturday will be the first time ever that the Indy Eleven face El Paso Locomotive FC in Indianapolis. El Paso is the last current USL Championship team to make its debut in Indy.
The all-time series between the Boys in Blue and El Paso is tied 1-1, with the two teams meeting in El Paso in 2021 and 2023.
The Eleven rallied to win the last meeting in 2023. After trailing 1-0 at half, Sebastian Guenzatti tied the match in the 53rd minute on an assist from Jack Blake. After El Paso regained the lead two minutes later, the Boys in Blue responded with two goals in seven minutes. Defender Callum Chapman-Page scored his first goal for the Eleven off an assist from Adrian Diz Pe in the 64th minute to tie it, setting the stage for Douglas Martinez’ match winner in the 71st minute.

LAST OF THE WEST
Saturday’s match vs. El Paso is the last regular-season match against a Western Conference opponent for the Boys in Blue.
Indy finishes the regular season with seven straight matches against Eastern Conference opponents. Only six points separate teams in fourth through 10th place in the conference. The top eight teams in the East will make the playoffs, with the top four hosting first-round games the first weekend in November.
RETURN OF DIZ PAYS OFF
Defender Adrian Diz Pe earned his third USL Championship Team of the Week recognition this season, returning to the lineup Saturday at Hartford after missing the last three matches because of injury. The 2023 USLC All-League Second Team selection earned Team of the Week honors in Week 10 and Team of the Week-Bench accolades in Weeks 9 and 27.
The 30-year-old Diz Pe had 11 duels won, seven clearances, six tackles (matching his season best), and two interceptions at Hartford. The 6’4 Diz Pe is sixth in the USLC in duels won (159) and tied for 18th in clearances (87).
The match at Hartford was Diz Pe’s 150th appearance in the USL Championship.
AEDAN AIDS THE CLEAN SHEET
Defender Aedan Stanley made a nice sliding tackle just outside the area in the 78th minute to help preserve the shutout at Hartford. Stanley led the Boys in Blue with five crosses attempted and he was second on the team in completed passes (32), recoveries (6), and tackles won (2).
The 24-year-old Stanley has logged 2,250 minutes for the Eleven this season, starting and playing the full 90 in the first 23 matches before sitting out the August 24 contest at Las Vegas.
The former collegiate player at Duke is tied for second in the USLC in crosses (185), ninth in chances created (44), and tied for 42nd in clearances (63).
The Columbia, Illinois, native is tied for second in the USL Championship with seven assists, which includes his first career multi-assist game, a two-helper performance against his old club Miami FC on May 12. He also tied for a team-high two in Open Cup games. Stanley has 15 career USL Championship assists, posting no more than three in a season before joining Indy Eleven in 2024.

TOP TEN BEN
Defender Ben Ofeimu is ninth in the USLC in clearances with 98 after recording two at Hartford on Saturday.
The four-time USL Championship Team of the Week honoree also leads the Boys in Blue with 21 blocks this season.
The West Bloomfield Township, Michigan, native has started 16 of the last 18 games for the Indy Eleven since being acquired from Miami on April 11.

Goalie Hunter Sulte made one save in recording his sixth clean sheet of the season at Hartford on Saturday. The 22-year-old Sulte is tied for 11th in the USLC in clean sheets and he is tied for 17th in saves (49).
The Anchorage, Alaska, native on loan from MLS-side Portland Timbers has started 18 of the last 20 matches for the Boys in Blue. The 6’7 Sulte started in his MLS debut on May 1, 2021, vs. FC Dallas. He is the second youngest goalkeeper in MLS history to play in a league match at 19 years and six days and the tallest ever.
NEWCOMERS FOSTER CHANCES
The Boys in Blue had their best scoring chance at Hartford in the first half in the 38th minute when midfielder Brem Soumaoro set up forward Maalique Foster for a run into the center of the box, but his shot was stopped by an impressive kick save by Hartford keeper Renan Ribeiro.
Foster played the full 90 for the second straight match, tying for the team lead in chances created (2) and completed passes in the final third (11). The speedy Foster, acquired from Colorado Springs on August 23, has four goals and four assists this season.
In his Indy Eleven debut, Soumaoro, signed on Sept. 3, started and had five recoveries and 27 completed passes, playing the full 90.

Midfielder Aodhan Quinn moved up one spot to second on the USLC all-time list in minutes played with 21,278 after logging 67 at Hartford. The San Diego native has started four of the last five matches for the Boys in Blue.
The 32-year-old Quinn became the USL Championship’s leader in regular-season minutes played against Tampa Bay on July 22, 2023. Quinn has 54 goals, the 24th player in USL Championship history to hit 50. He is one of only six players to have a combined 100 career goals and assists and is the second player to join the 50 goals/50 assists club (54/50). Quinn has recorded 25 penalty kick goals in 28 attempts in his career in the league, the most of any individual player in league history.

MARTINEZ IN CONCACAF NATIONS LEAGUE MATCHES
Indy Eleven forward Douglas Martinez played in two Concacaf Nations League matches for Honduras on September 6 and 10. The 27-year-old had 22 minutes in Honduras’ 4-0 shutout of Trinidad and Tobago last Friday, before getting six minutes in a 2-1 setback to Jamaica on Tuesday.
