INDIANAPOLIS (October 21, 2024) – The Indy Eleven Academy U20 team clinched another USL Academy Great Forest Division regular-season title with a 3-1 victory over Louisville City on Sunday at Grand Park. Jonah Mwilambwe, Braedy Strothkamp, and U14 player Delvin Terrazas scored for the Boys in Blue, with Terrazas making his U20 debut.
The U20 squad coached by Academy Director Kiki Wallace finished 8-0-2 in league play with 32 goals scored and six goals allowed, after winning its third consecutive USL Academy Cup Championship in March with four straight shutouts.
The Boys in Blue earned a berth in the 2024 USL Academy League Finals on December 5-8 at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. The fourth edition of the USL Academy League Finals features an evolution of the competition format with the top 16 teams from the USL Academy League regular season being represented. The event will feature three days of single-elimination games beginning on Thursday, December 5 and culminating with the USL Academy League Final championship match on Sunday, December 8.
Indy Eleven won the inaugural USL Academy Finals in 2021, with current First Team midfielder Diego Sanchez one of four Boys in Blue earning All-Tournament honors. Sanchez is one of three Indy Eleven Academy players to sign a professional contract with the First Team, joining Logan Neidlinger (2024) and Alann Torres (2021).
Phil Presser is the Sporting Director for the Indy Eleven Academy. Since 2019, Indy Eleven has signed 22 players to USL Academy contracts, making the club one of the premier player development destinations in the USL Championship.
