Indianapolis (Aug. 21, 2026) – Indy Eleven has acquired defender Joe Hafferty and forward Malik Henry-Scott on loan for the remainder of the 2026 season from USL Championship club Lexington SC. In a separate transaction, Lexington acquired midfielder Noble Okello via transfer from the Boys in Blue. Per club policy, terms of the deal will not be disclosed. The 28-year-old Hafferty brings four years of USL Championship experience to the Boys in Blue, playing the last two seasons for Lexington SC. In all competitions in 2026, he has 21 appearances, starting nine games and recording two chances created in 958 minutes.
In 2025, Hafferty played in 35 matches for LSC, leading the team in tackles won (42) and duels won (138) and ranking second on the squad in blocks (12), clearances (76), and interceptions (23).
The Renton, Washington, native played for Las Vegas Lights FC in 2024, helping them reach the Western Conference Finals with team bests of 22 blocks and 90 clearances in 30 appearances.
The Oregon State product earned 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Best XI honors for Austin FC II after his team won the league championship.
Hafferty began his pro career with the Tacoma Defiance with nine appearances for the club in the USL Championship in 2021 and 22 games played in MLS NEXT the following season.
He was drafted by Inter Miami CF in the second round of the 2021 MLS SuperDraft, with Seattle Sounders FC acquired his rights and sent him to its USL-C side in Tacoma.
Hafferty was a two-time All-Pac 12 selection at Oregon State, earning United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors in 2019.
Malik Henry-Scott scored goals in back-to-back matches for Lexington SC this season in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup vs. Flower City Union and vs. Brooklyn FC with a strike from the top of the box surrounded by three defenders. In all competitions in 2026, he has played 14 games with two starts and four chances created in 288 minutes.
The Plano, Texas native debuted with Lexington in 2025 after making six appearances for Huntsville City FC in MLS NEXT Pro.
After signing a homegrown contract with FC Dallas, the 24-year-old helped North Texas SC win the 2024 NEXT Pro championship with four goals in 23 matches played, including one in the playoffs.
Henry-Scott played collegiately at Tulsa, scoring 17 goals in 48 appearances.
His younger brother Tarik Scott is a forward for Lexington SC this season after playing in four MLS matches for FC Dallas in 2025.
Noble Okello played in 21 matches with 17 starts in all competitions in his first season with Indy Eleven, scoring two goals and ranking third on the Boys in Blue in aerial duels won (38) in USL-C play.
