Edward Kizza’s cannonading volley into the upper 90 at BHM was the winner of the USL-C Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week.
The last Boys in Blue player to win this award was Cam Lindley in Week 16 of the 2023 season for his goal at Hartford Athletic.
Forward Bruno Rendon ran down a ball in the corner to start the sequence, playing it back to defender Makel Rasheed, who served it into the box, where Kizza volleyed it sharply into the top right corner to tie the match at 1-1.
It is Kizza’s 21st career goal in USL C play and the first Boys in Blue and USL-C assist for Rasheed, who played three seasons collegiately at UIndy. Rasheed tied for team-high honors with two chances created along with captain Aodhan Quinn.
Indy Eleven rallied with two second-half goals to extend its unbeaten streak to five (2-0-3) with a 2-2 road draw at Birmingham Legion FC. The five-match unbeaten run is the longest for the Boys in Blue since late in the 2024 campaign.
Goalkeeper Eric Dick made three saves, including a diving stop with his left hand in the 78th minute on a shot from inside the area by Gevork Diarbian to keep the match level.
In the 81st minute, Quinn started the sequence that gave Indy Eleven the lead with a perfect throw-in down the left sideline to sub Logan Neidlinger, who waited patiently to play a cross from inside the area that midfielder Josh O’Brien volleyed home with his right foot fully extended to give his team a 2-1 lead.
It is the 23-year-old O’Brien’s second goal in USL-C play for the Boys in Blue–he scored vs. Birmingham in the 2025 USL Cup. The assist is the first in 2026 and the second career one for the 20-year-old Neidlinger, who tied for team best with two tackles won.

Saturday at Phoenix
Indy Eleven came back once but could not do it a second time in their first loss in the month of August, 2-1 at Phoenix Rising FC.
Trailing 1-0 early, the Boys in Blue responded quickly by going from one end of the field to the other. Captain Aodhan Quinn started the sequence with a sliding interception inside his own six, steering it to Jack Blake. He took one touch and played it to Edward Kizza in the center circle. Kizza used the outside of his boot to play a long diagonal ball to the right side to Bruno Rendon. Rendon slipped but recovered quickly to play a cross toward Kizza at the edge of the six, but it was deflected in for an own goal to equalize at 1-1.
Quinn became the seventh player in Indy Eleven franchise history to play in 100 matches in all competitions for the Boys in Blue.
In the 17th minute, Alejandro Mitrano earned a free kick that Cam Lindley played past the far post to Paco Craig, who headed it down, but it was saved by Phoenix goalkeeper Patrick Rakovsky.
After the hosts regained the lead in the 28th, the Boys in Blue again produced a quick response opportunity with Josh O’Brien playing a cross into the area to Blake for a header chance.
In the 50th, Lindley played a diagonal ball from midfield to Mitrano on the left side. Mitrano’s cross to the edge of the six was volleyed by Blake to O’Brien who flew in for a header opportunity.
Indy Eleven had a clever buildup in the 58th that led to a Quinn service into the box to Rendon, but again Rakovsky made the save.
