Last Time at Hartford
Indy Eleven recorded its fifth clean sheet of 2025 to earn a huge 2-0 road victory at Hartford Athletic on Sept. 3.
Goalkeepers Reice Charles-Cook and Hunter Sulte combined for eight saves in the match to earn the shutout. Charles-Cook started his third consecutive match and made two stops in the first half on shots from Hartford forward Kyle Anderson, along with a sliding cover outside the six in the 28th minute.
Sulte came on in the second half for his first action since the USL Cup quarter-final on August 20. He was tested immediately, stopping forward Michee Ngalina in the 48th and again with a diving save to his left in the 51st.
In the 55th minute, Sulte made a reaction save on Samuel Careaga’s close-range effort, with the rebound attempt by Careaga just missing wide. Defender Ben Ofeimu came up big in the 60th minute with a block of Ngalina’s scoring chance.
Sulte’s total of six saves is his most in a match since July 18 at North Carolina FC (5).
For the second straight game, the Boys in Blue scored first in the game’s first three minutes. Midfielder Jack Blake played a ball from the air down in the left side of the area and uncorked a left-footed strike into the bottom right corner of the net for his team-leading eighth goal this season and the 40th in his USL Championship regular-season career.
After withstanding Hartford’s offensive onslaught in the second half, captain Aodhan Quinn started the counterattack that produced a valuable insurance goal with a long ball clearance from inside his own area. Forward Romario Williams chased the ball down outside the Hartford area and drew goalkeeper Antony Siaha toward him to free up forward Maalique Foster. Foster waited patiently for a defender to go by him, then buried it to make it 2-0.

Rendon & Quinn USL-C “Team of the Week
Indy Eleven forward Bruno Rendon and midfielder Aodhan Quinn were selected to the USL Championship “Team of the Week” after helping the Boys in Blue earn a 2-1 victory over Eastern Conference rival Detroit City FC in the Home Opener last Saturday at Carroll Stadium.
Rendon recorded an assist on forward Dylan Sing’s first Boys in Blue goal in the 43rd minute to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. Midfielder Josh O’Brien set up the scoring sequence with a run up the right sideline, hesitating and then playing a cheeky ball behind the defensive line into the box near the end line that Rendon chased down and chipped to the near post, where Sing headed it home.
O’Brien set up the game-winning goal in the 62nd, heading an errant clearance to Rendon, who chested it down and struck a left-footed laser for the game winner. That score was a finalist for the USL Championship “Goal of the Week”.
The 25-year-old Rendon tied for team-high honors with four shots and two shots on target on Saturday, adding two chances created, five completed passes in the final third, three crosses attempted, and two aerial duels won.
On the season, Rendon is ranked in the USL Championship Top Ten in three categories–tied for seventh in assists (1) and tied for ninth in goals (1) and shots (6).
It marks the third time in two seasons with the Boys in Blue that Rendon has earned “Team of the Week” honors. He earned the accolade in Week 3 and Week 33 in 2025.
The Matanzas, Cuba, native joined Indy Eleven after earning USL League One “Defender of the Year” in 2024 for Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC under Coach Eamon Zayed, the Boys in Blue franchise scoring leader. Rendon helped Northern Colorado to its best-ever season and the inaugural USL Cup championship, scoring nine goals in eight Cup matches.
Captain Aodhan Quinn led Indy Eleven with four chances created, nine crosses attempted, and 11 completed passes (nine in the final third), adding three tackles won and two shots against Detroit City FC. The 2025 USL Golden Playmaker award winner is second in the USL-C in chances created (10), tied for third in blocks (4), and fifth in crosses (17) this season.
The three-time All-League selection is the USL-C career leader in games started (278) and he ranks second in assists (61) and minutes (24,318), and third in appearances (292). He is the only player in league history to have recorded 50 goals and 60 assists in regular-season play and the first player in USL-C history to record double-digit assists in a season three times, including a franchise-record 11 in 2025.

Coach Sean McAuley
Head coach Sean McAuley earned the USLC “Coach of the Month” in May 2024 and he was nominated for USLC Midseason “Coach of the Year” after leading his team to a 12-match unbeaten streak in a two-month span from April 17-June 15.
The Sheffield, England, native led Indy Eleven to the 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup semifinals with four straight victories, including a 2-1 triumph at MLS-side Atlanta United on July 9.
In 2025, Indy Eleven continued its run of Cup success under McAuley with a 4-0-3 record in cup play. The Boys in Blue won their U.S. Open Cup Third Round match vs. Miami FC on Hayden’s White’s stoppage-time goal from Cam Lindley. In the Round of 32, Indy Eleven played MLS Supporters Shield winner Philadelphia Union to a 1-1 draw through 120 minutes, before falling in penalty kicks.
In the franchise’s first appearance in the USL Cup, the Boys in Blue won their group with an undefeated record that included a victory in PK’s (7-6) vs. Birmingham Legion FC and a 2-1 triumph over eventual USL-C finalist FC Tulsa.
McAuley is in his third season in Indy after previously serving as interim head coach/assistant at MLS-side Minnesota United FC. McAuley helped Minnesota to playoff appearances in his first three seasons, including a trip to the Western Conference Finals in 2020.
In 2015, he hoisted the MLS Cup with the Portland Timbers.
McAuley began his playing career with Manchester United and played for Portland Timbers and the Scottish U-21 National Team.
